Paciaroni’s 10-step method of art criticism

These activities for teachers of all world languages were developed by Angelique Aristondo, Sarah Litvin, and Elissa Myers (Ph.D. candidates from the Museum Pedagogy in the Classroom Team at the Teaching and Learning Center, the Graduate Center, CUNY) in collaboration with Kelly Paciaroni (Italian Teacher at Pearl River High School and Ph.D. candidate at The Graduate Center, CUNY) and Monica Calabritto (Associate Professor at Hunter College and The Graduate Center, CUNY). Conversations about emotions in Italian: A study of portraiture for beginners

Kelly Paciaroni (Italian Teacher at Pearl River High School and Ph.D. candidate at The Graduate Center, CUNY) further adapted the activities designed by the Museum Pedagogy in the Classroom Team and tested them in her own Italian classroom. Below you can find these materials used during the afternoon session for Italian teachers — these can be used immediately in a lower level Italian class, having all of the vocabulary, preparation, and instructions built in. Click on “view / download” to access the material.
